Epratuzumab
Naked humanized antibody targeting CD22 receptors on B-lymphocytes. Primary use is for the treatment of indolent and aggressive NHLs, and for autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythmetosus (SLE) and Sjögren’s Syndrome. Every year there are 56,000 newly diagnosed cases of NHL and 25,000 deaths. SLE afflicts up to 1.4 million in the U.S. In May 2006, epratuzumab was licensed to UCB, S.A. for all autoimmune disease indications worldwide. A Phase IIb clinical trial for SLE is planned for first quarter of 2008. Additionally, there are three NCI-sponsored trials in oncology ongoing.
Veltuzumab
Naked humanized antibody targeting CD20 receptors on B-lymphocytes. Primary use is for the treatment of NHL and autoimmune diseases. Phase I/II trials for NHL have been fully enrolled. New trials in ITP are underway as well as a new subcutaneous formulation of veltuzumab for NHL and CLL patients.
Y-90 hPAM4
Yttrium-90-labeled humanized antibody targeting MUC1 expressing tumors. There are more than 37,000 new cases and about 32,000 deaths each year from pancreatic cancer in the U.S. A Phase I clinical trial has been completed. A Phase Ib clinical trial is underway to study fractionated radioimmunotherapy combined with chemotherapy.
Milatuzumab
Naked humanized antibody targeting CD74 expressing tumors. Primary use is for the treatment of multiple myeloma, NHL and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. There are 14,000 new cases and 11,000 deaths every year related to multiple myeloma. Phase I clinical trials are underway.
Y-90 Epratuzumab
Yttrium-90-labeled humanized antibody targeting CD22 receptors on B-cell lymphomas. Primary use is for the treatment of indolent and aggressive NHLs. Every year there are 56,000 newly diagnosed cases and 25,000 deaths. Phase I/II clinical trials have been completed. Additional studies are underway.
Radiolabeled Labetuzumab
Radiolabeled humanized antibody targeting CEA-expressing tumors. Primarily use for the treatment of inoperable metastatic solid tumors. Every year there are 140,000 newly diagnosed and 65,000 deaths due to colorectal cancer; 180,000 new cases and 45,000 deaths due to breast cancer; 172,000 new case and 160,000 deaths due to lung cancer; 25,000 new case and 15,000 deaths due to ovarian cancer; and 29,000 new cases and 28,000 deaths due to pancreatic cancer. Phase I clinical trials of yttrium-90-labeled labetuzumab have been completed while iodine-131-labeled labetuzumab is currently in Phase II clinical trials for the treatment of patients with colorectal cancer that has metastasized to the liver.
Milatuzumab-Dox
Doxorubicin conjugated humanized antibody targeting CD74 expressing tumors. Primary use is for the treatment of multiple myeloma, NHL and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. There are 14,000 new cases and 11,000 deaths every year related to multiple myeloma. It is in preclincal development.
RNAse-Conjugate
Inactivation-resistant RNAse conjugated to humanized antibody, using internalizing tumor antibodies. Primary use is for NHL and solid-tumor anticancer therapy. It is currently in preclinical development.
DNL Constructs of Antibody, Antibody-Drug Conjugate and Interferon-Alpha
New multivalent monospecific and bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates and non-antibody based protein constructs were created using the Dock-and-Lock platform technology for potential cancer therapy. The program is currently in preclinical research.
Dendritic Cell Vaccine
Tumor antigen conjugated to internalizing, dendritic cell-targeting antibody. Primary use may be as a tumor vaccine. It is in preclinical research.
